Goin' Courtin' - Date #1

Get Chocolate Wasted

Invitation to date: I used e-vite (which is free) to send an invitation by e-mail. It said something like,
"You're invited to get chocolate wasted.
When: Friday @ 10:00pm,
Where: Kitchen table-down the hall and on the right
"
I also added a message to it saying that we would be playing a game and that we would be playing for a prize so he was to think of one thing that he wanted if he won the game.

What you'll need:
6 plastic wine cups ($1 for a pack of six at the dollar store)
1/2 gallon of chocolate milk
dice
scrabble tiles
paper to keep score
timer
total cost: $4

I made the game up myself so it's pretty cheesy, but hey! Sometimes you gotta work with what you have. You can always tweak the game if you don't have scrabble tiles.
This is how we played the game...
Each person rolls two dice. Whatever number you roll depends on how many scrabble tiles you get to pull out of the bag. Once you pull your tiles out of the bag you have one minute to spell a word with the tiles you have. Each person adds up the points on their tiles and their score is added to the score card. The person with the lower score must then drink one wine glass of chocolate milk and another round starts. Every three glasses of chocolate milk you drink, you subtract 5 points from you score. The person who reaches 100 points first wins the game and the prize!
( I played for a week of no dish duty if I won and Michael wanted to pick the next 3 movies if he won........two action movies down and only one more to endure :)

Oh, you also might want to go to the bathroom before you start this game :)

Goin' Courtin' -

I never make New Years resolutions because I end up breaking them before the week is over and then I just get discouraged, but this year I think I've found a resolution I can keep! Having a Date night once a week! (Or at least trying to have one)

Of course we can't get a babysitter every week let alone afford to go out. So a lot of my date ideas are things we do at home when Collin goes down for a nap and the best part is...most of them are free!

So I thought maybe I'd share some of our dating adventures with the hope that others will share their ideas with us too!

Wanna come hang at my crib!?

I have some issues with separation anxiety. I probably need therapy because I have serious irrational fears. Because of that Collin has been sleeping in our room by my bed since the day we brought him home. Michael's been trying to get me to "let go" for months now but I've been making up every excuse I could think of as to why Collin needed to stay in our room.
Finally at 6 months I gave in and we moved Collin into his own room. I still check on him at least once a night, but we're both sleeping better and it's so nice to be able to use my own bathroom now without fear of waking him up.
My name is Casey Boyd. I have separation anxiety, and my son's wife is going to hate me :)

I think he likes it!
