One Whole Year?!

It's been a year since I posted last!
I guess it's time for some catching up...

Family trip to Daytona!
Michael had a work trip to Daytona and we tagged along for a quick getaway.

We got to meet up with the Lee's while we were there.

This was our view from our hotel room.
We spent 2 days and 3 nights hopping between the beach and  hotel pool.

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party!
My sister surprised us with tickets to Mickey's not so scary! She had won the tickets by being the 10th caller on the radio. I still can't believe it. The only downside was that the tickets had a pre -determined date on them which just so happened to fall on the same night as our Daytona trip. But there was no way we were missing the fun, so we left the hotel and drove back to Orlando (Disney) for the party and then drove back to Daytona after it was all over. We didn't get back to our hotel until 3am! What's ironic is that we only live about 25 minutes from Disney so we pretty much drove past our house on our way back to Daytona. Call us crazy, but we don't vacation much so we took full advantage of it. The kids were troopers and even let us sleep in the next day!

If they pass out from exhaustion on the way home, you know your vacation was a blast!

October 2016
San Francisco!!
Michael had a work Conference in San Francisco and I tagged along. (I seem to be doing that a lot lately)
We spent 6 days without any kids! I had so much anxiety just thinking about leaving them, but this trip was just what I needed. It was so relaxing. I'm so thankful for my in-laws and sister who took turns watching the kids while we were gone.

Golden Gate Bridge

Alcatraz Island

We took a boat out to Alcatraz Island and got to walk around a bit. We walked around inside the jail while listening to an audio tour. It was a really cool place.

(Lighthouse and remnants of the warden's house.)

San Francisco from the boat

I think my favorite place in San Francisco was Muir Woods. We kinda just happened upon it by accident. It was so peaceful and the trees were huge!

It's been a great year. I don't think 2017 can get any better. :)
